The hero who fired back at the Texas Church shooter and gave chase in a truck is reportedly struggling following the traumatic incident. 55-year-old Stephen Willeford said he was "scared to death" when he heard shots ring out by his home and decided to grab his rifle and fight back.
"He saw me and I saw him and I was standing behind the pickup truck for cover," Willeford said. "And we exchanged, unlike, it was surreal to me, it couldn't be happening, I couldn't believe it."
"And we exchanged gunfire, I know I hit him, I don't know where I hit him, but I know I hit him," Willeford added. "And he got into his vehicle and he fired another couple of rounds through his side window."
"I think my God, my Lord protected me, and gave me the skills to do what needed to be done."
But a close friend has reported that Stephen has been struggling since the incident, and could do with our prayers. “That PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) is going to be something that’s with him and the whole family for a while,” friend John Wood said. “He is a blessing to many. They need lots of prayers and blessings to get through this situation themselves.”
