Franklin Graham and President Donald Trump are just two leading figures who have come out in total opposition to the not-guilty verdict handed down after an illegal immigrant shot dead a woman in her 20's..Kate Steinle was shot dead as she walked along San Francisco's Pier 14 in July 2015. The defense argued that undocumented immigrant Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, 45, discharged the weapon by accident.
"A disgraceful verdict in the Kate Steinle case! No wonder the people of our Country are so angry with Illegal Immigration," President Trump responded on Twitter. Attorney General Jeff Sessions added: "I urge the leaders of the nation's communities to reflect on the outcome of this case and consider carefully the harm they are doing to their citizens by refusing to cooperate with federal law enforcement officers," Sessions said in a statement."
"When jurisdictions choose to return criminal aliens to the streets rather than turning them over to federal immigration authorities, they put the public's safety at risk."
Franklin Graham also commented on the verdict, writing on Facebook: "Today Jose Ines Garcia Zarate was found not guilty of homicide in the shooting of Kate Steinle on San Francisco’s Pier 14. Many people were shocked at the verdict."
"But I can tell you that one day all of us will have to stand before God and be judged. Whether we are guilty of murder, stealing, coveting, or lying we will be sentenced to the penalty of death—UNLESS we have repented of our sins and put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. You can take that to the bank."
