In a brief interlude between tweets mourning the recent death of her grandfather, Billy Graham, Jerushah Armfield slammed evangelicals yet again on Twitter this week, this time featuring words from controversial author and pastor John Pavlovitz.
Armfield's addendum was tacked onto Pavlovitz' recent letter to white evangelicals, calling them out for supporting President Trump during his "numerous moral failings."
They see that all you’re really interested in doing is making a God in your own ivory image and demanding that the world bow down to it.— jerushah armfield (@jerushahruth) February 26, 2018
You’ve lost any moral high ground or spiritual authority with a generation.â°You’ve lost the plot. https://t.co/lZEEomvtYn
Pavolovitz also compared the reception of Trump by evangelicals versus that of former President Obama, asking when they offered up prayers for Obama’s family or welcomed him into their institutions.
"For eight years they watched you relentlessly demonize a black President; a man faithfully married for 26 years; a doting father and husband without a hint of moral scandal or the slightest whiff of infidelity.— John Pavlovitz (@johnpavlovitz) February 26, 2018
And yet, now..." https://t.co/5u8u1eFHFv
