Conspiracy Theorists Claim Sutherland Springs Church Shooting Was "False Flag", Arrested After Harassing Survivors

According to the San Antonio Express-News, two conspiracy theorists were arrested on Sunday after harassing survivors and families of victims of last year's shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

Jodi Mann, 56, and Robert Ussery, 54, known on YouTube as “Conspiracy Granny,” and “Side Thorn Journalist,” respectively, were arrested after trespassing on church property, vandalizing a memorial poster, and screaming obscenities at Pastor Frank Pomeroy, who says Ussery "continually yelled and screamed and hollered and told me he was gonna hang me from a tree, and pee on me while I’m hanging."

Mann and Ussery, along with several other conspiracy theorists, believe that Frank and Sherri Pomeroy's 14-year-old daughter Annabelle, who was among shooter Devin Patrick Kelley's 26 victims, never existed, and that the shooting was a “false flag” or government-manufactured crisis to seize guns and power. Ussery and Mann even demanded to see Annabelle Pomeroy’s birth and death certificates.

Sherri Pomeroy told Snopes.com that the harassment had been "almost from the first day it happened. They call it a drill from Homeland Security and say that none of it happened."

Ussery’s web site features several videos of himself on his quest to prove that the shooting never happened. In an especially disturbing video posted to YouTube, he calls a woman whose sister and niece were killed in the attack. As she sobs and tells him how much his actions have made her family’s suffering worse, Ussery says, "So are those tears painted on, or, just like at the vigil? You knew these people personally? You saw their bodies? You have proof?"

The woman continued, explaining how she had to personally identify the bodies of sister and niece, to which Ussery replied, "Now we know that you’re lying, so. You’re gonna be able to provide this in a courtroom, correct?"

When the woman asks why Ussery should be provided any proof of the victim's deaths, he responded that there’s no proof they died or even existed and proceeded to taunt and laugh at her as she sobbed and screamed into the phone.

The video then concludes with a photo of a memorial of the shooting with the message, "We'll be there you government paid trash."

Sherri Pomeroy offered a few choice words regarding Ussery and his motivation: "We think he’s demonic or demented. One or the other."
