VIDEO: Lauren Daigle Lauren Daigle Brought Christian Music To The Ellen Degeneres Show

On Wednesday, Grammy-nominated contemporary Christian artist Lauren Daigle brought her style of worship music to the "Ellen DeGeneres Show". Ellen's audience raved, but, because DeGeneres is a lesbian, the Christian community is divided on the issue. Watch Daigle's performance in the video at the end of this article.

DeGeneres introduced Daigle, calling her "amazing" before she took the stage. "Six feet under/I thought it was over/An answer to prayer/The voice of a Savior/Rise up/ Rise," Daigle sang as she performed the song "Rolling Stones" off of her smash hit album Look Up Child.

Daigle announced her special appearance on the show in a Facebook post the day before. While many fans praised her for the move, plenty objected on the basis of DeGeneres' open lesbian lifestyle.

In a recent interview with The Christian Post, however, Daigle contended that she is committed to "going outside the walls of the church" to share the Gospel.

"I think the passage that says, 'Go out into the world and draw people unto Him,' the Great Commission, that's what I think about in regard to the mainstream aspect," Daigle said in the interview. "I wasn't looking at [making my music] as in mainstream versus Christian. I was like, 'OK, what is the purest version of me? Or what is the purest thing that God has written into my spirit and how do I express that? How do I communicate that?"
