Doctors Said She Would Never Have Kids; Now She's Pregnant With A Miracle Baby

At the age of eleven, the English Sarah Seddon suddenly started losing weight rapidly. Her concerned mom took her to the hospital. The diagnose little Sarah got would change her life for good.

"I was diagnosed with Crohn's back in 1998 after my health started to deteriorate", the now 32-year-old Sarah from Grimsby explains in the Daily Mail. Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). "I've been battling the condition for 18 years, and every treatment I've tried has not worked."

No kids
In total Sarah had to undergo five major surgeries. Sadly they weren't without any complications. Her body developed sepsis, a potentially life-threatening complication of an infection, over twenty times. The surgeries and treatment damaged her body internally and scarred her ovaries. Sarah got told she would never be able to have kids.

Sarah: "They said it would be difficult even for me to have IVF because it would be so hard for them to get to my tubes due to the scarring, and it could be dangerous for me to carry a baby due to the sepsis. The doctor told me "your options are to accept or adopt" – it was that blunt."

Sarah and her fiance, the 36-year-old Ian Carrick, still wanted to try. The impossible happened, and Sarah got pregnant. Sadly, their son Vinnie, was stillborn at 31 weeks last March. Sarah and Ian were heartbroken but knew this wasn't the end of their story. "We knew my womb was healthy, even if the area around it wasn’t," Sarah said. "So we were determined to get a second opinion."

Second Opinion
Their new specialist gave Sarah and Ian some hopeful news. "We were told it was not down to my past health problems, it was just something that can happen to anyone." According to the specialist, it would even be safe for Sarah to have IVF. In no time Sarah got pregnant again.

The happy couple will welcome their new baby this Spring. "I've done everything doctors said I wouldn't be able to do," Sarah happily says. The couple even made a baby grow for their expected baby with 'handpicked for earth by brother Vinnie in Heaven' written on it.

"Right now we are so happy but also a little scared of any other complications. We just want to meet our little one."
