Not Everybody Is Happy With The Long-Awaited John Lewis Christmas Commercial

Christmas is slowly coming upon us, and we can't start the jolly season without a new John Lewis Christmas commercial. Every single year the famous British department store releases a heartwarming ad, which makes even the most cold-hearted people wipe away a tear. This year, however, not everybody is excited about the artwork of the season. Mainly because it's not that much of a tear-jerking 'sadvert' as usual.

The commercial, with the one and only Sir Elton John as a main character, goes back in time with the 71-year-old singer. He sings his famous 'Your Song' and gets a little younger every second. Until we meet a mini-Elton John, who receives his first big Christmas gift: a piano!

Not that bad of course, but English Twitter have nothing but critique. Saying the commercial isn't 'Christmassy' enough. They even go as far as to say that the advert is only a sneaky marketing campaign for Elton John's new movie, Rocket Man.

Cheap marketing trick, or a creative masterpiece? We'll let you be the judge!
