WATCH: 6 Truths About God's Wrath From John Piper

God's wrath is a woefully ignored topic in many churches today. God's love is what saves sinners, this is the heart of the gospel, but we can't become imbalanced in preaching. Without God's wrath, after all, what are sinners even being saved from? Thankfully, pastors like John Piper aren't afraid to preach the true, balanced gospel.

At this year's CROSS conference, Pastor John gave a life-changing message about God's wrath and the six truths the church seems to be missing when it comes to this difficult subject. Watch the full clip in the video at the end of this article!

“Poverty, hunger, disease, war, crime, climate change, addictions, homelessness, ignorance, sex trafficking: these bring great global suffering—and they pale in comparison to the peril of being under the wrath of God,” Piper said.

“They are all tragic, but they are all temporary. They may last a lifetime, but the wrath of God lasts forever.”

The six truths about God's wrath, Piper outlines, are that it is “righteous,” “terrible and eternal,” “coming in final judgment,” “owing to our sin,” “God’s prerogative” not ours, and “has already begun.”

“In America today, it would not be wrong to say that we are collapsing morally at every level of society and ripening for judgment," Piper said in a statement that seems almost prophetic given that it was made several weeks before atrocities such as New York's abortion expansion became law. "That would be a true statement, I believe; it’s just misleading because the collapse itself is judgment."

“And if you want to read how that works, just look at the rest of Romans 1," Piper continued, "and you will see what Paul means by the present activity of the wrath of God giving men over to their sin.”

Watch the rest of Piper's incredible preaching in the brief video below, and continue to pray for God's will to be done!
