President Trump Set To Discuss Abortion During SOTU Address

Although the hotly debated border wall funding will surely not be ignored in President Donald Trump's State Of The Union address tonight, abortion is reportedly set to be a key topic.

According to Politico, President Trump plans to dedicate a fair amount of time of his hour-long address to Congress and the nation to the radicalized push from Democrats to expand access to abortion, especially in the third trimester.

“The president wants to reaffirm his commitment to pro-life things,” an anonymous Republican source close to the White House shared. Trump, he says, doesn't want the speech to be “all fire and brimstone.”

If reports are true, the President's words couldn't come a moment too soon as several states are moving to pass legislation deregulating late-term abortion.

Following hot on the heels of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's barbaric abortion bill, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, a fellow Democrat, defended a similar bill in his state which would have allowed abortion even during labor.

Trump offered his two cents on the bill, which thankfully failed, to The Daily Caller.

“I thought it was terrible,” Trump said of Democrat defense of the bill. “Do you remember when I said Hillary Clinton was willing to rip the baby out of the womb? That’s what it is, that’s what they’re doing, it’s terrible.”

Trump added that he believed such extremist bills would backfire on pro-abortion advocates and “lift up the whole pro-life movement like maybe it’s never been lifted up before.”
