Gary Sinise's Response To This "Thank You" Video Is Almost As Amazing As His Gift To Veterans And First Responders

While Gary Sinise may not be one of Hollywood's most prestigious actors and hasn't racked up a closet full of Oscars, he has spent decades behind the scenes doing something with a greater, more lasting impact. Through the Gary Sinise Foundation, the Forrest Gump co-star has dedicated countless hours and dollars toward helping veterans and first responders in need.

According to People, the CEO of the Gary Sinise Foundation, retired four-star Air Force Gen. Robin Rand, got the idea to orchestrate a cascade of video messages from countless beneficiaries of Sinise's work, as well as a handful of celebrities who admire him for it.

People captured Sinise watching the video, and it is absolutely heartwarming. Sinise says he was “completely shocked” and “incredibly touched."

Here’s the original video put together as a small "thank you" to the actor:

The video included heartfelt messages from people like Sinise's fellow Forrest Gump star Tom Hanks, retired four-star Army Gen. Colin Powell, comedians Tim Allen and Jay Leno, as well as actors like Patricia Heaton, Robert DeNiro, and more.

“Thank you for all the things you have done for our men and women who have served our nation,” Gen. Powell said. “Not only what you’ve done for them but for their children, what you’ve done for their families, what you’ve done to help them rebuild their lives.”

“As you can see we’re in front of this beautiful house right now,” said one veteran in the video. “We wouldn’t have had it were it not for your kindness, graciousness and your wonderful gift giving.”
