Billy Graham Explains Why God Does Not Answer All Of Our Prayers

Have you ever wondered why it seems God has failed to hear your prayers? It can be a bit frustrating, can't it? You may be earnestly seeking for something in prayer, and yet it does not come to fruition. So, why is this? Well, famed evangelist Billy Graham has some great wisdom on the question.

First of all, we should ask God's forgiveness for where we have fallen short. "We should examine our lives and be sure we aren’t holding on to our sins, but have turned to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness we need," writes Graham. "Have you opened your heart and life to Him? If not, the first prayer you need to make is to ask Christ to come into your life as your Savior and Lord."

Even after that, will God always answer our prayers as we expect Him to? No, and here's why. "God knows what is best for you, and instead of “yes,” sometimes His answer is “no” or “wait,"" writes Graham. We may not like that – but later we’ll realize that He was right and we were wrong.

"Remember: We see only part of the picture – but God sees it all. And because He loves us, we can trust Him to answer our prayers according to what He knows is best for us – even when He says “no.”"

"The Bible’s words are true: “As for God, his way is perfect ... he shields all who take refuge in him” (Psalm 18:30)."
