Dr. Brown On The Hypocrisy Of Ellen DeGeneres Refusing To Have Trump On Her Show

May 18, 2017 by Will Maule

Dr. Michael Brown has addressed what he believes to be a hypocritical comment on tolerance made by talk show host Ellen Degeneres. In the clip, Ellen is asked whether she would have President Trump on her show. She says no.

"No. Because I'm not gonna change his mind. He's against everything I stand for," says Ellen. However, she continues to put out a message of tolerance and coming together even if you disagree with one another. "Do you see a slight contradiction there?" asks Brown. She saying "I won't sit with him, because I totally differ with him. And we have to learn to be able to sit with people we differ with."

"Yeah, you'd say glaring double-standard hypocrisy!"

That being said, as Christians, we must be careful not to entertain the same sort of attitudes.

"Do we do the same thing?" asks Brown.

"See, we need to sit down and have a dialogue with people we differ with. We need to hear them out and ask them to hear us out."

"We've gotta do a better job of being more consistent with our moral outrage," urges Brown.

"We have got to guard against hypocrisy!"

Ellen, Brown argues, is basically saying "give me the right to be who I am but I'm not gonna give you the right to be who you are."
