Muslim Leader Who Called For Christian Gov. To Be Jailed Is Main Suspect In Porn Case

A controversial, hardline Indonesian Muslim preacher has been named as the central suspect in a pornography case. Rizieq Shihab is accused of exchanging graphic messages and nude pictures in text conversations with a woman, according to the BBC. The leader led the protests against Jakarta's former Christian governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, who has been jailed for 'blasphemy.'

The Christian politician is reportedly holed up in his tiny prison cell, reading the Bible incessantly. With such a busy schedule as governor, Ahok's sister said that her brother often had to skip Bible reading. Now in his small cell space, she believes his situation "could be a blessing in disguise."

Mr Rizieq has been jailed twice for violence and disrupting public order. Now, he is accused of violating Indonesia's strict anti-pornography laws by transmitting pornography to activist Firza Husein, who has also been named as a suspect.
