Gov. Greg Abbott On Hurricane Devastation: "God Will Provide A Way"

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has urged Texans to turn to God in the midst of the tragedy caused by Hurricane Harvey. Abbott, who was paralysed after a jogging accident some 30 years ago, has spoken of his own experience of faith, and how it can help us get through the toughest of times.

“Almost 30 years ago my life changed when a tree crashed down on my back and left me permanently paralyzed and never able to walk again,” he told CBN. “There are tragedies that occur and what I learned is that our lives are not determined by the ways that we’re challenged. Instead, by how we respond to those challenges.”

Now, Abbott is urging Texans to respond to this crisis in faith, trusting that God will make clear the path toward a full recovery.

“When we respond with a commitment to our faith, trusting in God, that God will provide us a better pathway forward, we know that we can wake up everyday trying to pursue the will of God.”
